“Martha Eason’s champagne-like runs as Adele sparkle even brighter than the canapé being fought over.” – BNN
“Martha Eason’s coloratura acrobatics as the flighty chambermaid Adele are nothing short of grandiose.” – SWR Kultur
Here’s a little taste of the production:
What’s Up Next: A Winter of Baroque music with Phèdre and Rinaldo
I’m currently in the final rehearsals for Lemoyne’s “Phèdre,” directed by Christoph von Bernuth and conducted by Attilio Cremonesi. This production is shaping up to be visually stunning—think intricate staging, elegant costumes, and a whole lot of stairs. Thanks to my sessions with Caitlin at Hü Performance, my balance and stability are ready for several hours in a very heavy and large dress! This production has been a reminder that singing is definitely a sport.
My first performance is on January 28th- find tickets here.
At the same time, I’m swimming (hint hint*) through rehearsals for Rinaldo for the International Händel Festival with Lawrence Zazzo singing the title role and Rinaldo Alessandrini as conductor. This marks my third production with the brilliant director Hinrich Horstkotte, the first being my debut of the role Gilda in my first season as a fest singer.
Fun fact: Hinrich is also the costume and set designer for the production. He is amazing at creating a whole world with the set and costumes- I love his productions because a singer, you really forget you’re onstage instead of in another word. As a special tradition, he gives each singer a hand-drawn rendering of their costume as a premiere gift.
